What our plumbers get called out for

Most of our work is the everyday stuff that goes wrong in Kent homes — and the occasional job that has been quietly getting worse for months. Here's where we spend most of our time.

Dripping and leaking taps

Worn cartridges, perished washers and seized spindles on kitchen mixers, basin taps and outside taps. Most are sorted inside the first hour, and we carry common cartridges on the van.

Leaks and burst pipes

Tracing where the water is actually coming from is half the job. We isolate at the stopcock, find the source, repair or re-run the affected section, and check the surrounding pipework before we leave.

Toilets that run or will not flush

Failed fill valves, worn flush mechanisms, leaking pan connectors and cisterns that never stop filling — a small repair that quietly adds a lot to a metered water bill.

Showers and shower pumps

Poor pressure, dripping valves, thermostatic cartridges and replacement units. We fit and repair shower pumps and can advise when a pump is the right answer and when it is not.

Radiators and valves

Radiators cold at the bottom or the top, sticking thermostatic valves, leaking unions, plus removing and refitting radiators for decorating.

Immersion heaters and cylinders

Failed immersion elements, faulty thermostats and no hot water from a cylinder — including the wiring side of the work, done by an engineer who works on cylinders every week.

Stopcocks and isolation valves

A seized stopcock is the thing you discover at the worst possible moment. We replace internal stopcocks and fit isolation valves so future repairs never mean draining the whole house.

Appliance and tap installations

Washing machines, dishwashers, new kitchen taps, garden taps and waste connections — fitted properly with the right isolation so they can be serviced later.

Not on the list? It almost certainly still falls to us — call 01732 792 454 and describe the problem.

Straight answers

What a plumber costs with us

Plumbing is charged by the hour because no two jobs take the same time — but the rate itself is never a mystery. We tell you what we charge before we arrive, and the engineer confirms the time spent with you on the day.

First hour (always billable) £95 + VAT
Each hour thereafter £47.50 + VAT
Materials Agreed before we fit
Weekends & bank holidays Double time
Annual boiler service £95 + VAT flat

Payment is taken by the engineer on the day. Materials are only ever charged for what the job actually needs, and if a part has to be ordered in we will tell you the cost first. New boiler installations and bathrooms don't work this way at all — those get a free fixed written quote before anything starts.

Emergency plumbing, around the clock

Burst pipes and uncontrollable leaks don't keep office hours. Our emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by someone local — not an overnight call centre taking a message for the morning.

If water is running now, turn it off at your internal stopcock first, then call 01732 792 454. We'll tell you honestly whether it needs someone tonight or whether it can safely wait until morning at the standard rate — we would rather save you the double-time charge than sell you an emergency you don't need.

Real reviews from real customers across Kent

Adam from Plumbing Angels is very good at answering calls quickly and getting the job done. Really nice man who would do anything to help. Very happy to have found someone I feel I can trust.
— Sarah Buckley
Called Adam and he found a plumber to come the next day. Luke was extremely helpful and fitted a new shower for me as well as doing a couple of other minor jobs, finishing after normal working hours.
— Mel Rowe
Two previous plumbers had viewed leaking concealed shower taps and advised works would require a complete cartridge replacement and tile damage, but we didn't agree. Luke inspected and determined the problem was easy to fix.

Plumbing questions we get asked

How much does a plumber cost?

Our plumbing work is charged at £95 plus VAT for the first hour and £47.50 plus VAT per hour after that, plus any materials the job needs. We confirm what parts cost before we fit them, and the first hour is always billable. Weekends and bank holidays are charged at double time. You are told the rate before we set off, so the only variable is how long the job takes.

Do you charge a separate call-out fee on top?

There is no extra call-out charge stacked on top of the hourly rate — the first hour covers our engineer coming to you and starting work, and it is always billable even if the job turns out to be quick. If the repair needs a part we do not carry, we will tell you the cost before ordering it.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes — Plumbing Angels is Gas Safe registered under number 951167, and you can check that on the official Gas Safe Register. That matters for boilers, gas cookers and any gas pipework. General plumbing does not legally require it, but it tells you the standard the same team works to.

Can you come out today?

Often, yes. We hold time back for genuine emergencies such as burst pipes, uncontrollable leaks and no water, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day. For non-urgent work we will book the earliest visit that suits you rather than leaving you waiting in all day.

What should I do while I wait for a plumber?

For a leak or a burst, turn the water off at your internal stopcock — usually under the kitchen sink or in a downstairs cupboard — and open the cold taps to drain the system down. If water is anywhere near electrics, switch off at the consumer unit. Then call us and we will talk you through the rest.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. All our workmanship is covered by a 90-day guarantee, and we are fully insured. Parts we supply carry their own manufacturer warranty on top.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Tonbridge and work across Kent and into East Sussex — Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Paddock Wood, West Malling, Edenbridge, Crowborough and the villages in between.
